However, I strongly recommend NOT installing those protocols. They
aren't needed in a typical Windows network. In my experience,
installing more than one network protocol is more likely to cause
network problems than to fix them.
If a network doesn't work using TCP/IP as the only protocol, the
problem is probably that an improperly configured firewall program is
blocking access. In that case, un-install (don't just disable) the
firewall program while troubleshooting, and consult the program's
documentation to find out how to allow access on the local area
network while blocking access by other Internet users.
