Trying to Dial-Up when booting

I used to use a dial in service (Worldnet), but now use
cable internet - no longer need to dial.
For some reason, every time I boot my laptop, it wants
to dial into Worldnet, and wants me to select Connect or
Cancel. I had deleted the DUN connection for Worldnet a
long time ago. Also, my Internet Properties - Connections
is set to never dial - and even if I turn that on,
Worldnet is not an option (because it had been deleted).
How can I get it to stop?
Thanks!

last year I had this problem, dialup at start and at shutdown. The problem
would come and go. For awhile it happened TWICE every time Word would load
Normal, attached DOTs and each document, as opened. VERY ANNOYING.... I
theorized that Norton Antivirus updates & changes altered this unwanted
dialup behavior.

I assume you want to fax or have other reason to not just remove the modem
card?
I wonder how any DUN can come up if you have deleted all form the Dial-Up
Networking window.
