Trying to connect a 2nd laptop to the network

I have a new Dell with built in adapter. It can see the other two computers
(1 desktop+1 Toshiba laptop) in the same workgroup but cannot be connected
further for any sharing. The other 2 computers can see the new Dell in the
workgroup but no sharing (all obvious settings are set to share). The desktop
and toshiba laptop are functioning fine. The Dell can connect to the Internet
through the network but nothing more. No printer can be set up because it
cannot connect.

Addendum: I am using the MN-700 base and MN-720 on the Toshiba. I have loaded
the Microsoft Broadband software on the Dell.
