I have recently had to break up two sites into two
different domains. The admin of the main site wants a
one way trust with the second site, with second site
trusting main site. The main fsmo dc is a windows 2003
server using 2000 mode domain structure (not my decision)
and every time I try to establish the trust I get "Not a
valid domain name". The second domain fsmo dc is a
windows 2000 server. The domains are .local on both
sides. I have host file entries and dns entries pointing
to the correct ip addresses for the domains and the
respective servers on either end. Does anyone have any
useful tips to establish this trust?
