Is it true that Tiscali are switching people to Tiscali LLU?
Without telling them?
If so, can anything be done about it?

Not so easy when you still have time to run on your 12 months.

Out of interest, are then any migration issues when you do want to move
only to find you have be transferred to LLU? Is it still seamless?

From what I've heard (if you're using Tiscali's phone service too) you'll have
to pay BT £120 or so for a 'new line' to go back to them.

If it's just broadband then you need to find an ISP that'll accept LLU MACs.

Surely if they change the contract the original contract time is no
longed valid and there is a new contract with new terms. If you do
nothing you are implicitly accepting the new contract terms. However,
if you do not wish to accept the new contract you should be able to
withdraw without penalty. So write and tell them you are not accepting
the new contract and that if they object you will see them in court.

Chances are that even if they believe they are right they won't let it
go to court because even if they won their legal costs would be more
than they'd get from you in cancellation fees.

Your contract is to recieve BB, how they do it is not your concern, and
certainly does not form part of the agreement.

The LLU service provided by Sky is far better then that provided by BT. BT
said that my line was to poor to ever provision broadband on, following a
visit from BT, a year later, i get sky BB with a 3mb adsl2 service.

But the contract will describe the services provided, not the method of
delivery to you.

If Tiscali in UK behave the same way as Tiscali in the Netherlands they employ a
legal company to collect fees. The legal company will threaten you with the
bailiffs.

Kit wrote <<Surely if they change the contract the original contract time is

the contract. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 'we can do anything we like
and by accepting this contract you have agreed' term. Many service
suppliers (power, telephone, ISP etc) seem to nowadays. There was a time
when the customer was King and the customer was always right!!

True - and that is my situation.
I am paying Pipex for ADSL and phone calls
but paying BT for line rental.
If I got switched to LLU, would the line rental payments to BT stop?
What would actually happen?
What should I watch for to know whether such LLU switching has happened?
