Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to post this help request. Please point
me to the right place if this is not, thanks.

I have a home desktop and a work laptop. When the laptop was part of a
workgroup (albeit a different one than the desktop), I was able to have
them see each other.

Since the laptop has been moved from the workgroup to a domain, the
desktop can't access it anymore, that is when I try to access
\\laptop\c$ from the desktop, I get a "Can't access \\laptop\c$. You
might not have permission to use this network resource." Sometimes the
error message reports, "Can't find the network path", sometimes it
reports, "There are currently no logon servers available to logon your
request" error. The other way (\\desktop\c$ from the laptop) works
fine.

I tried to google for advice, and I assume the trouble is tied to the
domain (which I cannot access while at home) but I feel like I'm out of
my depth here. Could some tech guy help me please?

Thanks,
Marco

You may want to create the same username and password on both computers.
This search result may help.

Bob,
thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it seems the page you referred m
to does handle mainly the symmetric problem of being unable to acces
the workgroup computer from the domain computer.

I'm already able to do that, what I'd need is to be able to access th
domain computer from the workgroup one.

Anyway, I'll try the advices there, and see if I manage to solve m
problem.

Regards,
Marc
