Troubles Configuring DLINK DWL-800AP+

Struggled through the documentation to try to configure this device as
a repeater. I fixed the ip address of my pc's ethernet card to
192.168.0.50. Connecting the device to my pc with cat5, I was able to
access the device's configuration menu in my browser at 192.168.0.30.

I didn't notice any range improvements on the lan, so I tried to
re-access the device's configuration, but so far have failed.

The device's light blinks regularly when connected to my pc. My pc
blinks each time the device blinks - and says a network cable is
unplugged (almost like a flashing sign on the status bar).

I've tried to reset the device with a paper clip as instructed.

I sat on hold (on a speaker phone - I must add) for two hours trying
to get through to dlink tech support. Gave up.

I emailed their tech department using the support site - but haven't
heard back.

Anyone have any ideas (before I take this baby back to Best Buy)?

Mark what are you trying to "repeat"? That unit is fairly specific about
what it will repeat. You can do a Google on this newsgroup to find what
others discovered, it will work with...
