I was trying to make a 2 computer network one being winxpPro and the other
being winxpHome. I can access winxpPro from winxpHome but not the other way
round. I have tried everything I could.
Any help would be highly appreciated .

Can you ping the XPhome? If not, make sure no firewall blocks the traffic.

Can you ping the xphome by IP? If not, please post back with the results of both computers' ipconfig /all.

yes it pings from xphome to xppro but NOT vice versa. Thre is no problem for
xphome to xppro.
From xppro, when I try to click on "view workgroup computers", sometimes it
says "MSHOME is not accessible...network path not found" and sometimes MSHOME
is visible and when i click in MSHOME it says "(the other comp's name) is not
accessible...network path not found".
I am having doubt about one thing. There are two network adapters in
xphome, one is Intel pro adapter and the other one is 1394 adapter. Isn't
there supposed to be only one for one LAN ? I am guessing that the problem
is caused by those two.
I noticed just now that when i try to turn on file sharing in one, the other
one's file sharing is turned off and vice versa. What is this ? please help
me.
PS: firewall was turned off all the time.

The 1394 adapter is your Firewire Interface.
Leave it alone.
