Hi,
I have a network which is connected to a Netgear DG834 router, then to the ADSL
line. All was working ok. I have just bought a Netgear WG602 Access Point for
use by a laptop and a Sony PSP.

I have connected the access point directly to the computer to configure it, as
per instruction book. The problem is, I am unable to access the interface to
configure it. I was able to access it when I first connected it but not now.
I have noticed that the MAC address showing on the computer for the access point
is not the correct one. Could this be stopping me from accessing the interface.
I would appreciate some help please. Thanks

I wonder if your PC lost its IP address and then couldn't re-acquire it
because the access point (AP) isn't acting as a DHCP server?

Try setting your PC's Ethernet port to a static address of (say
192.168.0.10) and then see if you can connect - that's assuming that the
AP's own address is in this same range and isn't 192.168.0.10.

If this works, configure the AP and then reset your PC to dynamic IP so that
it will be given an IP address by the router again when you plug it back
into the router.

Things to watch out for:

- make sure the IP address of the router (probably 192.168.0.1) and the AP
are different - set the AP to 192.168.0.2, for example
- make sure the router's DHCP isn't handing out 192.168.0.2 to any of the
PCs: on the LAN IP Setup screen of the router's web interface, change
starting IP to a value that's not been allocated to the accss point - eg
192.168.0.3

are you using a crossover cable, if connecting directly ? why not
stick it on one of the LAN ports of the DG834 ?
