Trendware TEW-IA04O or TEW-IA06D

Does anyone have experience of using the Trendware antenna on 802.11b
systems in a domestic environment with lots of antenuating walls?
Especially with NetGear AP and cards?

My newly installed setup 824M access point provides decent signal to a
laptop with an MA401 card. However, signal strength on the desktop
MA311 PCI cards is poor and erratic - probably because it is poorly
sited in a cablinet , under a desk, near the floor etc. etc. - so I
am looking at methods to improve the signal on the receiving end of
the wireless path.

Results

Both antennae attach (screw into) to the card and the router - no
problems

The omni-directional TEW-IA04O when attached to the MA-311 seems to
improve received signal strength and quality.

The directional TEW-IA06D seems to produce no perceptible improvement
in signal strength - but placement of transmitter and receiver is
obviously more critical on this device - I need to experiment a bit
