Gurus,

I am moving DHCP services from a Linux server to a Microsoft server. I've
built a new scope with the same settings on the Microsoft server. Any
thoughts on how I should shorten the lease duration on the Linux server
during the client cut-over period?

Hello Spin,

Just shut down the old DHCP server. After the half lease time a client will
start to renew it's address. If the client doesn't find a DHCP server it
waits again the half time before starting again. So if you have the new DHCP
server running and activated the scope the client can renew the address or
get a new one from the new DHCP server.

Best regards
