Transfer old files

Hello.
I have a very old laptop with only a serial and a parallel port
available (OK and a PCMCIA) with no network and no modem cards. I have
50 MB of data stored in a backup partition of my Ultra-ATA Disk (I
totally have two partitions, one for OS and one for backup). I need to
transfer the data to another modern PC with full I/O capabilities. I
have tried DCC with a simple parallel cable and also a null-modem cable
, but it didn't work.
What do think is the reason for that? What other options do I have?
Thank you for your help.

There is an old DOS way to do this. The files will be in the DOS directory
and are "interlnk.exe, and intersvr.exe".
Run intersvr on the new machine and interlnk on the old one. Use either the
parallel or serial cable. You need to be able to use the old DOS commands
with this method.
This is one option

Both computers are runnig Windows 98. I booted the old machine in DOS
mode and typed the command interlnk , but it is not supported. How I am
supposed to access these two commands (interlnk and intersvr)?

And is there another option to the transfer problem in case this doesnt
work ?
