What's a good traffic monitoring utility that will tell me who on my network
is killing our bandwidth. We've got about 50 users and I'm monitoring our
servers via Performance Monitor and I can see that our network is being
killed by someone or something. Without selecting each person in performance
monitor I can see who is doing what. What would be a 3rd party application
might help me?

There are a lot of products for network monitoring
Ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com/) is a good protocols analyzer
From Solarwinds you can download a trial of treir products
(http://www.solarwinds.net/Tools/Netw...itor/index.htm)

Of course, it depends on what you're searching and any product requires a
bito of time to be understood.

If you have Cisco routers you can use NBAR.

What do mean by killing bandwidth? Local or external? Do you have a switched
environment?

There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary. Those who do and those
who don't.

You can also try MRTG. If your switch support monitoring tools, you can
easily monitor the traffic of each port of the switch.
