Tracing my MAC Address at destination

My ISP claims that what my 'ifconfig eth1' displays for my
MAC addr. is not what his server is seeing from my DSL
connection. Therefore, I am not getting the static IP
they assigned to me. I think that is bull as far as I have
been able to verify.

Question, is there a site I can verify my MAC (view my IP
headers) , just like I can my IP, say at http://www.tracert.com

Thanks
TonyB

What devices, if any, do you have between that system and your ISP?
Is there, for example, a DSL router/NAT/whatever? If so, then that
would be the MAC the ISP sees, not the one on your system.

And what does eth0 do on your system?

Not really - MAC addresses are only at "layer 2" which means they
don't pass through routers. The other way to describe it is that a
layer 2 address is not "end-to-end" like an IP address.
