traceroute to win2k3R2 is not working

Hi there,
I'm just wondering what can block traceroute/tracepath to my win2k3
R2 server. We have two A and B servers, same subnet, same switch, same
NIC (intel MT1000). "A" is also a RRAS-VPN server.
What happens is that from a unix client all the traceroutes/tracepaths
command die if they are directed to server "A" but are successful if
directed to server "B". Instead if I run the tracert from a windows
machine they both respond to queries.
One more strange thing is that if I run a raw port sniffer, the server
"A" responds to queries from the unix machines.
I'm asking this because sometime the NFS (via UDP) connection to
server A is lost and the clients are frozen for a while

thanks.
a.

I add that I've just discovered that unix's traceroute uses different
protocol from the microsoft's one so that's why the traceroute failed.
I am still wondering why it works with server "B" though.. Could it be
that server "B" replies to UDP requests while server "A" does not?

The RRAS may have filter enabled or it is the routing issue. Posting the
result of ipconfig /all of the RRAS here may help.

Hi,
thank you for the answer. This is the same I thought so I enabled
another RRAS on the server "B" but nothing changed.
Anyhow, my ipconfig /all:

So, I've definitely solved the traceroute/tracepath problem
You were right about the RRAS. It was set IGMP routing protocol for
the internal interface and this seems to interfere with the UDP
requests.
Now I have to see if this solves my NFS problem too.
thanks
