Is it possible to use two access points to connect two parts of my
network that cannot be wired together (and cannot be) so it is totally
transparent to the involved computer.

I am thinking of buying 2 netgear HE102 802.11a Wireless Access Point
(they are very cheap). I want to put one in my basement, where my
cable modem is located and my linux box. I want to put the other one
on the second floor where I have a network of 2 computers. I want to
use standard ethernet NIC on each machine, especially on the linux
box, and I essentially do not want the machine to know that there is a
wireless "link" somewhere the network. It seems to me everything would
be simpler (and cheaper) this way.

Is this possible?

BTW anybody knows about the netgear HE102 AP?
Thanks
JC

If you want to link two network segments as you described I would suggest
you get one (1) Access Point (AP) and one (1) bridge. I use Linksys
WET11's, there are other similar devices. You will be much happier in the
long run.
