Toshiba Qomiso Laptop cannot access Internet thru Netgear 811b

I just purchased the Toshiba Qosimo Laptop and set it up to access my Netgear
811v2 router and the internet. I had trouble initially in that it would not
recognize the network using the XP wizard. After manually entering the IP,
default gateway I was able to connect, but I can't access the internet. Would
appreciate any help in what I am doing wrong. The Toshiba internal wireless
adapter is a Marvell Yukon 811g...I have a Thinkpad with a Netgear MA521
adapter that works fine.
