Hi,

My Toshiba Tecra 9100 does not see my wireless network. The device
manager claims that it's working ok, and I've installed the lasted
drivers. My network is fine, but when searching it finds nothing,
please help.

Cheers

Bryan

Can it see any wireless networks (anywhere)?

Sounds like it's not connected to any antennas. You may want to open
the machine and check.

can we start again

1. Did it ever work
2. Have you added any new security software.
3. Are your Firewall set to accept other comps including the router in some
cases.

Hi,

Only just got the machine, it's second user, but it is in very good
condition.
Windows claims everything is ok, but clearly not.
I will check the card is in properly, and the aerial is ok, once I work
out how to get the keyboard off.

Cheers

Or maybe the radio is turned off. That's almost always an option in the
driver. I've also seen at least one laptop with an external switch that the
driver couldn't see, which could account for the device manager telling you
things are OK.

Good points. I got bitten recently by such an external switch -- I'd
wasted over an hour before it occurred to me to check for one, which
made me feel pretty silly.
