Tomato and vlan1

When I can't connect to the internet, I've noticed in the tomato home
page of my Buffalo router that vlan1 is missing. How can I make vlan1
permanent? I don't think my router is talking to my cable modem.

Not being able to connect always happens after turning off my PC. The
only way I can connect is to turn off PC, unplug modem, reset router,
unplug router, plug in modem, plug in router, then turn PC on. I'm tired
of doing that.
Help.

Thanks
