TLV

hi,
while sending mac managment message from BS to MS or vice versa we
will encode the message using TLV ...... what is the advantage of
using TLV ?

this should be in a typical computer science text book

FWIW i would say the sets of data are self describing, so an entity
recieving them doesnt have to understand the format of data sets it isnt
interested in

it can skip past each one to the next during a scan
