Tiscali - When will we get a speed increase from 512kbps??

Seeing as all the other companies are already or soon to offer 2mbit
services, I wonder how long it will take Tiscali to now catch up?

At one time they were much more in the forefront of broadband speeds. These
days most of their customers (me included) are still wating for a decent
speed increase from our 512k package.

I dont suppose anyone from Tiscali cares to comment in this group?? We
don't want your silly caps Tiscali..... We want a decent speed increase with
no monthly cap to worry about.

Unfortunately, changing ISP might get you that, but also may mean some spell
of time without ADSL at all... I'm using 2000 kbps, on an account costing a
'pretty reasonable' 14.99/month (but it has some restrictions, such as being
unsuitable for peer-to-peer and binary newsgroup enthusiasts) which suits my
usage (only 1.7 GB yesterday, sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less) to
have a service for streaming audio and video... Check out Metronet and the
Freedom 2 Surf site, but remember you'd need to cancel Tiscali and wait some
days before you could place your order... choice of ISP depends on what you
want to make use of the service for, too, of course. Peter M.
