I moved from Tiscali to Sky broadband at the beginning of October
using a migration code provided by Tiscali. Today I have found out
that Tiscali are still charging me because they aren't aware I have
changed provider. In fact they even want me to send proof that I have
migrated to Sky. Could this all have happened without Tiscali's
knowledge?

They traffic shape you out of existence. Have no customer service. Then they
keep on charging after you have left!!
Tiscali is a company that deserves to go bust. Sooner the better.

WEll read back the mac code to them, cancel the direct debit and tell them
to go and fuck themselves

Did it to me as well, followed by several months of debt collector letters.
It took over 9 months to sort out....

Oh I made sure that did not happen, they were well aware that I had
copies of all correspondence and left them in no doubt that I would
pursue them far quicker in the courts than they would me.

Yes. If you were using Tiscali's BT product, Tiscali won't have been told by
BT that the migration has completed.

Yes its entirely possible, quite often Sky will set you up on LLU and not
bother to use the MAC code, so basically Tiscali are never then informed
that the migration took place, the MAC then expires after 30 days and they
will quite rightly allow the service to carry on.

Its easy to sort out though, just call Tiscali's billing team and explain
what happned they will then arrange to cancel the account and a full refund
(usually from the last usage they see on the account) within 28 days by
cheque.
