Well firstly I would like to thank those who were kind enough to answer my
other posts regarding Sky Broadband. I would also like to thanks those who
have even replied to the others posts from others also regarding Sky BB!
As all the info has been worth while and of interest.
Anyway I was looking to make the switch from Tiscali to Sky a few weeks
back, but on checking the availability I got a message about my being on a
LLU product, blah, blah, blah.
So this weekend I checked again and it sad I could switch just by getting a
MAC from Tiscali.
So this evening at about 5.20 pm I called Tiscali and requested my MAC, he
read me the mandatory statement that my request will submitted to BT
Wholesale who will generate a MA for me, this will take from 1 - 36 hours
and I will be sent my MA both by email and my post.
The MAC code arrived about 10 minutes later by email.
So I called Sky, ordered Sky BB (Max), gave them the MAC and hey presto,
the first few steps had been completed. I have to admit that thus far, it
has been quick, simple and *pain free*.
I will post an update to the group, when I receive my Sky (Netgear) Router
and then another when it all goes lives.
Like I said, I was dreading switching my ADSL, after reading all about the
problems of others, not just in here but also in the computer mags.
Still I better not start counting my chickens yet, as there is more than
enough time for potential problems...
Best Wishes to one & all,
Gaz.
