Tiscali News Server Deceased or just Deaf?

Here we go again, or not.
Not updating.
I wonder how long for this time?

I gave up on the Tiscali news server a long time ago
Also using datmas.de, its ok, but were you using it
at the end of last month when they replaced the server(s)
and lost all the retained posts?

Also Tiscali's DNS sometimes takes a couple of seconds to resolve
addresses since they have been re-directing the 404's to their own search
page, and latterly to Google. They claim they can turn it off
on a per-account basis but they haven't done so in my case yet.

Redirecting 404 errors would have to be done in their web-proxy, but if
they're redirecting failed dns lookups you might like to try opendns.org.
They do a similar thing with some ads thrown in too, but at least they
have a reputation for being fast.
