Cant connect to my usual newsreader.com news server and while its quite
possible that newsreader.com is having technical problems - all my other
news servers are working fine with no problems .

newsreader.com doesnt even get to the auth stage .

I'm not accusing tiscali of anything - it just seems a bit strange thats
all as i'm sure tiscali would never do such a thing just because a user
told the truth about the type of service they get during peak hours .

Not even sure why i'm posting this as its 99.99% sure that its a
newsreader.com problem/issue and tiscali are totally innocent and its
not their fault .

Just curious if any of you think tiscali would actually be capable of
doing such a thing - what do you reckon ? .

Using a f2s connection a ping to newsreader.com (38.144.126.80) fails
and a traceroute fails at the last stages. It probably means that
newsreader.com is broken

Using 'Samspade for Windows' available from
http://samspade.org/

treacle at this time of night .

Or it's behind a firewall that drops ICMP packets, which isn't uncommon.
