HELL NO!

Below is just a couple of the complaints (if you had access to the Tiscali
forum's, you'd realise the actual extent to Tiscali's uselessness)

> Im thinking about going with Tiscali for BB... Are they any good??

Problems in the last few months:
o 2 weeks of slower than 14.4k dial modem speeds
o 1 week without webmail
o Almost a week of e-mail server problems, delayed and bounced e-mail
galore, worse the PO strike
o Current delays with newsgroups, takes about an hour to synchronise my 12
subscribed groups

In a word, NO. They have now blocked access to the Broadband Support forum
if you're not a Tiscali user, shows how bad it is really!

Current forum topics (they're all real!):

(I think you get the idea by now.)

Given a choice, I would go with Nildram. Most of my mates use Nildram and
have never had a bad word to say about them.

The BB might be OK, but if you have any problems their support is useless
(much the same with all the big ISP's) as is their billing.
PlusNet has just won award for service and reliability and even one as the
'best ISP on the planet',
and their prices are just about the cheapest - £18.99 pm if you don't need
P2P and binary newsgroups, £21.99 otherwise.
If you decide to go with them use my referrer code 'jerryw' and save me few
pennies, ta.
My PlusNet BB hasn't missed a bit since May installation.
Regards,
Martin

Tiscali are scum. They tried to wrongly bill me a long time ago when they
took over my ISP.
There not a UK ISP just keep well clear.

According to their web site the prices are either £15.99 £19.99 or £24.99.

I have had (well my mate has actually) great problems with binary newsgroups
(erm.. well newsgroups in general actually) with tiscali. Can you point me
whereabouts on their site where they say what they are supposed to deliver?
And details of this £3 extra per month it costs?

Thanks

Paul

I'm guessing you mean LineOne? If so I agree, a good ISP wrecked by them.

Tell me, do they have problems which they refuse to do anything about
over a year after they were first reported?

While freedom to surf are good in many ways, their refusal to correct
the simple omission of rDNS entries for single IP broadband users us a
disgrace. You just get fed up of hearing tech support saying "it will be
fixed soon" when they obviously haven't even understood what you are
trying to complain about.

Every month that goes by with this issue left unresolved, every
recommendation that makes its way to me makes me more likely to switch
to Metronet.

Still bitter about F2S incompetence,

Mark..........

You need to look at their Home Surf - wires only prices:
http://www.plus.net/info2/residentia...broadband.html
and
http://www.plus.net/info2/residentia...lfinstall.html

as for binaries, I don't use them, but my understanding is that none of the
ISP's provide good enough cover,
you need to look up for the 'paid for news group services'.

Regards,
Martin
PS Now that I have done the homework for you, pls use my referrer id
'jerryw', thanks.
