Hi,

I am using T2 for my email client and news reader. When I expand my
News server account my newsgroups are listed. For example they are
listed as follows:

m.s.thunderbird
m.s.firefox

I would prefer my newsgroups to be spelled out completely.

mozilla.support.thunderbird
mozilla.support.firefox

It becomes really annoying when there are a lot of subscriptions and
then a set of them are specialized in some particular area. For Linux,
has several newsgroups each specializing in a different aspect. I would
like to see these names spelled out before posting any questions in
them. Most of the times I am trying to guess what "c.s.d.l.network"
stands for.

Is there anyway I can get Thunderbird to spell out the names of the news
groups?

Thank you in advance.

NJ

http://www.mozilla.org/support/thund...pp_expandnames

Make newsgroup names appear expanded, not abbreviated

The newsgroup server names appear abbreviated in the folder pane. To display the full name, use the Config Editor to change the value of the preference mail.server.default.abbreviate to false.

or:

add to user.js:

user_pref("mail.server.default.abbreviate", false);
