I have two rows of racks with one behind the other. Ther rear one has a small
patch panel and the cables comming from the rear of it go into the rear of a
larger patch panel in the front rack. I even matched the numbers from the back
panel to the front (#1 goes to #1, #2 goes to #2). The main switches/routers are
in the front rack.
I haven't seen any problems with mine, but you have to use quality products and
do a good job of punching the cables in. So I don't think a guy should get too
carried away with it. I suspect the more connections you create to more loss
you may cause. Use "factory" cables as much as possible instead of putting ends
on cables yourself.
