I have three different companies in one building and they all share a dsl
connection. How can I set it up so someone from Netowrk A cannot see Network
B and so on if they are browsing network neighborhood.

thx

Hi Thomas,

What separates these networks? Any routers or firewalls?

If you have a router or firewalls between these networks you could create an
access list and prevent them from accessing each others networks while
having access to the internet.

If you don't have any such device between these networks -- you will have to
think about setting them up between these networks.

Thomas you need to put in a managed switch with vlan support.

Business1 = vlan1
Business2 = vlan2
Business3 = vlan3

Port connecting to the internet router has all three vlans. A vlan is a
hardware switch, easy to setup and maintain.

Workgroups provide no protection with everyone on the same wire same subnet.

You would still be able to see all workgroups and e.g. list all computers in
that workgroup.

It doesn't sound like you have three networks. It sounds like you have one
network with three companies on it. This is implied by the fact that they
share the same DSL device which would only exist in a single network.

If the three different businesses should never access each other's computers,
then VLANs are the right solution.
