Found this yesterday on cdw.com. The new linksys wireless-g broadband
router has all of the standard features and allows up to 20 vpn
connections into the router. Don't need the 20, but connecting to my
home machines would be nice while at work. Not to mention a few remote
sites I support.

Has anyone used this model yet?
Are there other models that offer the VPN option?

thanks for your input.

I just replaced my Linksys BEFVP41 with the new WRV54G. It works good
and has some nice new features but lacks 3 features I need and
therefore until the firmware upgrades are applied, I have to work more
to accomplish the same VPN connections the older BEFVP41 did for me.
Here is what I feel is lacking.

1. VPN does not recognize FQDN as remote gateway.
2. VPN does not broadcast NetBIOS
3. Remote administration has 2 set ports. Needs to have the admin be
able to enter a port number.

I contacted Linksys support and was told, not in the firmware as of
now, but to check back often. Linksys did not say yes or no, if these
were changes in the works.
Regards, Bob

Linksys rarely fixes fixable problems, they only seem to try to fix major bugs. If anything, you'll probably lose features over time.
