To Whom It May Concern:

I am thinking about getting an antenna for my wireless router. I have a D-Link DI-614+ and I am thinking about getting a D-Link DWL-R60AT antenna. Does anyone us the DWL-R60AT antenna and how do you like it? Does anyone have better recommendations? I would appreciate if some of the people would describe their wireless with antenna configuration.

Thanks a lot

Aric

I assume you want to change the antenna because you want to increase the
range. If your laptop is the only client, then by far the best improvement
will be to add a highly directional antenna to the laptop with whatever you
need to point the antenna at the wireless router. If you're only
interested in extended coverage in one direction, then adding a parabolic
reflector (or corner reflector) to the wireless router is less expensive
and very effective.

Don,

I am interested in extended coverage of my wireless network. Is there
any parabolic reflector or corner reflector antenna you would recommend? Is
there any non-directional antenna you could recommend?

I just finished this last night, its a "windows" version external antenna.
more for fixed or portable use than a laptop, antenna is a 14bd/30 degree
panel with a dlink usb adapter. not pretty but it works..
have a look http://pages.ripco.net/~a2k

Could be interesting! May we see the antenna side?

Yes, Michael Erskine has developed some nice designs you can use here:
http://www.freeantennas.com/

Try this for a commercial non-directional (actually OMNI-directional)
antenna: http://www.superpass.com/2400M_Nomni.html

The higher the gain of an omni-directional antenna, the flatter the pattern
of radiation, so for very high gain omnis the client must be at the same
elevation as the access point.

I just added two more shots, not much to see on the front.
its a Radiall/Larsen 4 element panel from a defunct wireless dsl
and the coax is teflon with silver plated braid and conductor.
