Is there an update for the BT Home Hub 1200

A friend of mine wants to upgrade to 8Mb BT Broadband, but needs to
continue using the HomePNA networking that came with the old BT Home
Hub 1200.

Is there an upgraded version of the BT Home hub 1200 that does both
8Mbps ADSL, 54Mbps Wireless and the HomePNA as well. He was sent the
new white BT Home but the wireless signal is weak and intermittent
where the HomePNA reached.

If there are much more powerful wireless Cable/ADSL routers that can
reach the areas reached by the HomePNA devices I'd rather go for those?

Any suggestions?

Could always use his mains wiring as a LAN I have just started using it
and it is so much better than wireless. Try here

BTs 2 Wire intelligent gateway 1800 ticks all the boxes :-)

Does it do HomePNA as well, that is crucial, and I hope it will be
compatible with the existing adapters, otherwise more expense?

The 1800 does do Home PNA (the 2700s BT ship don't) and Home PNA is a
standard so it should interact OK with the devices you have.

Check eBay and see if you can get a late model 1800 suitable for BT
residential BB (the business packages also offered these and they may
be locked to accept on business usernames).
