Hello,
I have a customer that wants create following environment, where:

pc clients mounts filesystems from nfs/samba servers
nfs/samba servers mounts the same volume from SAN array.
if any of these server fail, the client must to re-establish the nfs/samba
connection automatically and trasparently from another server.

I need to know if there are any hw/sw system working like webserver
directors.

Thanks to all
kind regards
Davide

You wouldn't want to use a "loadbalancer" just setup a LVS
cluster providing the services and use GFS on the SAN storage. Be
sure to exclude any single point of failure, you want to redundant
multipathing (hba) and bond nics over more then one switch.

Good luck

I always love these.
I'm working as a consultant & can't do the job.
Could someone do the work for me for me so I can get paid.

Like TOFU? ;-)

We don't know if he can, even if the nntp software doesn't
provide much evidence.

At least he's going to use Linux, maybe he can work it out from
the hints someone else has to offer. Dunno, Linux isn't that
difficult if you spend some time about it and like it. The fact
many people aren't running Linux on their desktop isn't a good
idea to get comfortable with it. From reading documents and using
putty there's not a big chance of getting good at it.

Good luck
