....for the advice. I ended up putting four ports in the shed as I could only
get dual socket plates in a hurry. I wired the wall sockets, mounted the
switch up out of the way, reattached five rj45 plugs (wasted about four) to
the cables, and finally networked into the modem and router and out into
cyberspace, and all without a cable tester. ;-) Switch works fine, though
I've only had one pc connected at a time in there so far, so I'm not sure
how well it will handle simultaneous connections yet..
Time will tell I suppose, but for now I'm a happy chappy...
