Holy crap dude, my network litterally flys now, even downloading a large
group header list is better now with the improved network at home because
all the header downloads had to come over the LAN that was so horribly
slow. That hub replacement as well as the ethernet controller driver really
did the trick. You are "Da Man" and thank you so much!

No problem, next week we'll get you network to Gigabit speeds.

For LAN use this nic in the box I'm currently typing:

Ethernet controller:
Intel Corporation 82541GI/PI Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Haven't done much testing, although 35-45 MByte/sec for NFS
(write) seem reasonable (SATA I). ;-)
