testing network adapter by pinging 127.0.0.0

One can test a PC with a network adapter by pinging 127.0.0.0.
What if a PC has more than one network adapter? How to test them?
I got an error message when issuing the command "ping 127.0.0.0 on
a PC that has two network adapters.

not necessarily, which makes the rest moot.
