Test windows 2003 dhcp function on virutal network

There are two VMWARE machine installed with win2003 server for testing on
winXP host machine. One of the VMWARE machine (win2003 server) is enabled
with DHCP function. But other VMWARE machine (win2003 server) won't obtain
IP from this DHCP and still use the VMWARE software which provides the IP.

I want to test the win2003 as dhcp function on standalone virutal network.
Can I do that on VMWARE WKS SOFTWARE? or Should I change to use Microsoft
Virtual Server. Please advise
