I want to test if a host has an open printer port lp0, lp1, ...
But how?

smbclient offers a nice possibility to as a samba server which services
are available. A lpd host can also be asked. YaST, the setup tool frome
SuSE is able to ask a certain host if a printer with somewhat name (e.g.
lp0, lp1, ..) is available and responding. Thats the proof that it is
possible.

I need such a function for adminstration of remote networks.
