Many of you seem to have a down on Tesco being into broaband. Now I see
from the posts they are useing NTL, I'm new here but I do not see complaints
about NTL.
In my case my only complaint would be an e-mail to Tesco Broadband Support
of 8 days ago is yet to be answered.

Who is doing the support Tesco or NTL for them?

If NTL do they look after thier own customers well or bad?

Tesco have contracted NTL to provide a broadband service, NTL provide
(and recently took over) virgin.net services.

If you use Firefox to look at the Tesco broadband signup you get
"Unfortunately, Tesco internet access won't work on your computer's
operating system.
To install Tesco internet access on a PC, you need to be running
Windows 98, 2000, or XP. If you have a Mac, you need OS 9 or OS X. "
on a PC running XP Home.

which gives you a flavour. It wouldn't recognise my postcode and they
are using Datastream connections which have to be setup on each
eachange:

"In some areas the number of customers applying for Tesco broadband
has been so big that BT have to add additional broadband capacity.
This means some customers will have to wait longer for Tesco broadband
to be activated. If this affects you, we'll keep you fully informed by
email. "

After an initial problem with a dodgy modem!!!!! I have been problem free
with Tesco broadband for about 3 weeks. Not missed a beat and connected
24/7 since then. From my point of view the service is excellent. Hey,
things still could go wrong though. Same as with any provider.

I signed my Dad (80) up to Tescos, they said it would be connected on the
Monday - and it was. It has been connected with no problems for over 1
week. I was surprised as to how quick the installation was from registering
on the web site to delivery.

Very pleased

Regards

Mike

Try doing a google search & then you'll see what turns up...

A lot of users of usenet have gone to pastures new, even I have although
they refuse to turn my account off, typical NTL incompetence...
