My in-laws used to use them. The service was OK. They had no problems for
about 18 months.

Then they had an issue where the router wouldn't authenticate. Tesco support
were blaming the router, so we waited 5 days for them to send us a free USB
modem. Configured the modem correctly and still wouldn't connect. Then their
support blamed the PC. We tried another PC, but that had the same problem.

After 3 weeks of Tesco support blaming everything, including the kitchen
sink, it turned out that it was a BT exchange problem and BT will have to
fix it. By that time, the in-laws had given up and signed with Telewest.

Mind you, an awful lot of support centres are like this. They like playing
the blame game instead of trying to diagnose the problem.

http://www.dslzoneuk.net/isp_ratings.php will give you a clue..., perhaps,
for the same money, others may be better

3 months ago I was told by Tiscali not to put my router near to the TV,
radio, wall, kitchen, mobile phone, telephone, cable tv box, satellite box,
AND the christmas tree!
All that to fix their own servers.

You've got to be very careful about those walls. They can be quite
dangerous. ;~)

Their dialup used to be run by NTL (as was), don't know if the same is true
of their broadband.

It was when I last checked - I was considering them as an ISP when I was
about to move from BT.
I then found that they were run by NTL and they had no plans to introduce
anything above 2Mb.
I went no further with my enquiry...

I've been with them 14 months (moved from Plusnet) and find the
service fairly good. I'm only able to get .512 line speed
They offer newsgroups which I wanted

Every now and then there is a glitch with newsgroups, but email is
good with unlimited usage for £17.97 monthly.

Only supplied a binatone modem at the time I joined, but that didn't
bother me as I already had a router
