We are looking into allowing our users to login to the network from
their home computers using VPN.

Once they have established a VPN connection we would like them to be
able to open up a terminal service client that looks like a workstation
so they can browse the network, check email, and move files around
(either email them home or to clients etc).

Can anyone explain how this is done? The reason we dont want to use
Remote Desktop Connections is because some users have laptops (esp the
salesmen) and have no desktop to connect to. For obvious reasons, we
dont want the RDCing onto any of the servers.

I seem to remember that setting up a terminal server and having clients
connect to it works, but have never done it myself and don't know where
to start.

Any advice welcomed.

You may want to do TS over VPN. Also it is better to create a group policy to restrict some access.

Demo TS/RD over VPN To use TS over VPN, normally you need to establish VPN using the VPN ... However, with a pre-setup, you can just one-click to run TS over VPN in just one ...
