Terminal Services - configuration help

I've just setup Windows 2000 Server to run on my home server. I want to
administer/control it via Terminal Services so I can hide it away. Should it
work straight out of the box?

I set the options to run in 'Remote Administration' mode but my other PCs
running WinXP can't access a session. I've tried connecting by hostname and
IP.

Any help would be appreciated. I've had a look at the options for the
service but can't find anything out of the ordinary.

Many thanks
Steve

Without more information, best guess is that the XP user account does not
have the user right to logon locally to the Win2k Server. If this is a
workgroup environment, go to Administrative Tools/Local Security Policy.
Expand Local Policies and click on User rights assignment. Double click on
Log on locally and add the XP user's account. If the Win2k Server is a
domain controller, use Active Directory Users and Computers and configure
the same setting through Group Policy for the Domain Controller's OU - add
the domain user account used to log onto the XP machine.

If this doesn't do it, tell us what error you are getting when you try to
connect, any errors in Event Viewer, and describe how you installed Terminal
Services.

Also are you trying to connect via the local LAN or over the internet?
