Can someone tell me the benefits of using cyclades as a terminal server
instead of cisco routers?

Why would you want to use a Router as a Terminal Server ??

Either item is designed for a specific purpose in mind.

If you want to use dumb terminals to communicate to a network device ...
then use a Terminal Server ... Cyclades or Perle.

Err. cisco although makes terminal server, which might be what
the OP has in mind.

Most cisco TS I'm aware of don't support ssh (might have
changed?) unlike cyclades, which is a big pro!
