telnet ^M instead of enter

I have downloaded uwin. When I try telnet I am able to
connect but when I hit the enter key it echos ^M instead of
sending a crlf to the remote host. How can I solve the
problem?

I think I have to change some setting using stty not sure.

I have access to ksh and csh.
