Is there such a thing as a telnet compliance test suite.

What I am looking for is a way to test whether or not a telnet server
implementation is complying with all the various telnet standards.

This is of particular concern, since I am encountering problems with a
program I am writing to communicate with my Alcatel Speedtouch 51 ver
3.7 ADSL modem/router.

It seems to exhibit some very strange behaviour when I try to
communicate with it from my app, yet somehow (I guess I shouldn't be
surprised) telnet clients manage to communicate with it fine (although
I have a little problme with perl Net::Telnet on it).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Do you handle the Telnet command bytes (0xf0 to 0xff)?
