Anyone know how long it takes to propagate and become active when you add
a new MAC address via their website ?

TIA !

Just built a machine for my parents, but couldn`t get it to connect,
although their original laptop worked fine (eventually, had to power-
cycle the modem for some reason) - it would have been an easier night all
round if the keyboard they told me they had was made sometime in the last
decade and had a PS2 connector :-} but at least I discovered windohs can
and will boot with a crap serial mouse and no keyboard :-p

it was instant for me.
Just enter the MAC address, and reset the cable modem.
Then online with new nic or puter.

We tried power-cycling the modem afterwards but no joy - that said, they
haven`t been in touch with my tonight to say it wasn`t working...

Hi

Sometimes it can take a while for the CM to 'forget' the last MAC address
connected to it. If you're just swaping to a new NIC then after you've
registered the MAC address at selfcare I would suggest leaving the CM
powered-off overnight, next morning power-on the CM and let it get a 'firm'
connection. Once the CM has a connection then power-on the PC and away you
*should* go. If you're still having problems then visit the forums at
www.cm-forums.co.uk and post in the Blueyonder forum.

Regards

Bill
