Right I can see this could be a potentially stupid question but i'll give it
a go anyway....

I just bought an Origo AWR-8210 (
http://www.wellmodem.com.tw/product/...p?PRD=awr-8200 ) Wireless
ADSL Router with the premise of "sharing" mums internet in my own house
which is only around 33 metres away. ( we're only poor you see ;0) )

I was planning on just buying a USB wireless thingy for our end of the
network but then I had a thought..

Since we dont have telephone in our house yet and the AWR-8210 has a
telephone socket on board would it be possible if we got another AWR-8210 to
have a phone in our house as if it were in mums house? (or is it there
because there is a built in ADSL modem?)

Many thanks for any help on this!

Regards

Dan Bowles

Interesting question but I don't think it will work. The "phone" sockets are
sure to be data only modems.

If you get your wireless lan up and running you could always set up
netmeeting (or similar video conferrencing application) between the two
houses or from your house to someone out on the Internet via your mums
house. This is easier if the router supports UPNP.

I believe question was " can 2 wireless routers be used to create a
second fully working telephone line.
I don't think so. You certainly can connect a telephone to the router
physically connected to the telephone line (the trasmitting unit)
because it can loop the linne connection.
The receiving router will only receive data and has therefore nothing
to loop to it's telephone socket.
