tcpdump on PCMCIA

I'm running tcpdump to make simulations on a PCMCIA. I plugged PCMCIA
and when system boots, adapter is correctly found.
When I run tcpdump the only output is

tcpdump: bind: not such device

Anyone knows what does it mean?
