tcpd has gone off the deep end

I'm getting this entry about ten times a second in my /var/log/secure,
started about a week ago:

tcpd[1215]: connect from unknown
tcpd[1215]: warning can't get client address: Socket operation on non-socket

I've pulled up netwatch but it doesn't show anything coming in that fast.

I've even gone through and `ifconfig ethX down` all the interfaces
(including lo) except the one I'm ssh'ed in on and it hasn't made a
difference. The interface I ssh on I can see the switch and the lights
bounce about once a second, certainly not enough to cause this log storm.

I've gone through inetd.conf and disabled everything, then HUPed inetd.
Still no change.

hosts.allow and hosts.deny have no entries, and they haven't had any since I
set this box up over a year ago.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Thanks!

> Are you somehow running tcpd all by itself or something?

That may be possible. The pid is pretty high, even coming after some of the
stuff I do in rc.local.

<typing and electrons shuffling>

Yeah, just found this in my rc.local:

/usr/sbin/tcpd

Wait 'til I find the moronic admin that did this one...

Well now I know how to fill someone else's logs...

Thanks!
