Was debugging a certain FTP problem via tethereal, and just saw that TCP
sequence numbers during in the SYN state starts at 1 (
2.4.22-1.2199.nptl kernel )

Can anyone else confirm this ?

The older kernels ( 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl ) does not seem to exhibit this
problem.

You're probably looking at the relative sequence number that ethereal
calculates for you.
